  • throttle curve

Hi just wondering what the throttle curves peeps are using or what the best setup is. Mine is at 85% flatline but wasnt sure if this was ok for 3d moneuvers? tried my first tick tocks yesterday and it didnt respond like I thought it would. Seemed alot harder than on the sim.

I think you would probably be better running 100% flat line for idle up, to keep the head speed up.

errr to what ??? Tis easy to over do the headspeed as these heli's are very quiet.. self destruction may not be a option that's wanted

These are my recomendations with the following setup:
2221-8 scorpion motor and 55amp or 60amp ESC
              14T pinion
              2100 lipo

              Beginner : 0 30 65 80 90 curve - 6 mins approx
              Sport flyer(idle up): 90-95 flatline 5:30mins approx
              3D flyer: 100 100 100 100 100 - 4:30 approx

At 100% you run around 3300 on the head which is pretty high but works real nice for 3D on the beam. There is no need to run that high unless you are going to use it though.

The kit also includes a 16T pinion and if you think you have fitted that instead take it off and swap for the 14T. Also if you have the 2221-6 motor then the max size pinion is 11T

                Hi Richie,

What pitch curve should I use with that throttle curve? I'm a beginner and still at the hovering stage, and would like to maximize flight time.

                I'm using the 2221-8, 60amp, 14T, and 2250 lipo. I do have 11T and 13T pinions at hand.

Thanks... and greetings from Malaysia! This is my very first post on the forum!

                Steve.

                  Hi there Steve

                  Welcome to the forum!

First off ensure all your swash end points are at 100 with minimal subtrim and mechanically everything is at 90 degrees.

For the long term I would always recommend getting used to setting all your pitch curves linear: 0 25 50 75 100

Maybe reducing the negative pitch a little by using : 25 35 50 75 100. However if you do reduce the amount of negative try to get it back to fully linear as soon as possible.

If you are learning in a simulator like Phoenix then all helis are configured as standard with a linear pitch curve.

                  Hope that helps

I can see where that'll help when I eventually get into 3D in a few years!
