  • She alive !!!!

Shes up and away :-) at last.

Compared to the Blade its a scary machine and no mistake not sure what the head speed is but its freekin fast i think !!! sounds fast !! will be askin soon how to get that down. Ive got the smallest pinion on that came with the kit, 14t i think.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me get this far, in this forum and the other ones around rcha. lets have a

thanks to Rob too for all his help and patience

I have just dragged the wife out to take a pic, its not brill cos I think she was more concerned about keeping her head on her shoulders than taking a good pic

        Good stuff Carl

If you have any Trex pinions they will fit the -6 and -8 Scorpion motors. you can get them in a set of 3 covering 11, 12,13 iirc.

Ye, think I will see how it goes. Just been out with the Blade and the Beam does seem very "angry" shall we say compared to the Blade but im just not used to it yet I guess

Ive added some flybar weights to slow things down and will click in a few + on the cyclic too just till i get used to the awsome power

What sort of flight time will i be looking at just hovering about with some lazy 8s ? not sure at what time i should time my first proper flight.. 5 mins ??

Ive still got huge amounts to learn but at least I can hover her around all day, next it will be pitch and throttle curves i guess

            Cheers chaps

            ltr pt8rs

EDIT: after seeing your canopy Eddie ive bought the same one :-) looks sharp ;-)

                  Nice one Gasgasbones.
                  Looks awesome.
On a 14T pinion with a 100% throttle curve the headspeed is pretty high around 3300 iirc.
Once you get used to the fact the headspeed is so high you will learn that it is a very precise machine. Staying where its put and moving without any jerkiness.
Try punching the collective and see how she climbs.
                  What packs are you using?
I run a 15T pinion with a 90% FL and get around 4:30 out of my batts.
                  Enjoy.

Do you get warm packs on a 15t Adrian? seems quite high.

I use two revo 2200 25c and as for throttle curves god knows

here is a rubbish pic of the throttle curve section. the solid line lines up with the other dotted line at mid stick..

Fairly warm but not too hot.
I am using some cheapo packs and am waiting for the revo platinums to come out.
TBH I think there is a limit on how much current the scorpion will draw regardless of what size pinion is used (to a point).

You think the headspeed is high at the moment, wait till you up that throttle curve!
If I were you I would run something like
                          0,40,80,80,80 as your curve.
You are only just over 50% when you lift off (assuming 0 at mid-stick).
