Well my postman rang the door bell and I’m finding myself like a 4 year old again for the second time this week ( told my wife the beam e4 was only £100.00) and no I can’t get you one for that price haha

Yes I had to sign for it and then looked at the box that was given to me (how small it looked) I paid £**** for this then opened it o’my god what have I done (only ever had fly out of box before) s**t will I be able to build it?? Where do I start what radio gear and servo do I need help help

But on the up side it lookes well smart and well made

I may go for the hitec 6 ch tran any advice on this greatly received.

I'd suggest doing yourself a favour and getting the Spektrum DX7.

Or the Futaba FF 7 2.4ghz whatever you decide spend money on a decent Tx now and it will last ya for a long time instead of buying what is cheap then having to buy again later

Also look at the DX6i if you think you will stay electric.

dx7 2.4 id say as most here would, but the Futaba FF 7 2.4 is a good choice to , if you go for dx 7 2.4 however the servos are not that good that come with the full set , so just the tx & rx ,as it can be purchased without the servos , im sure someone can recommend a set of servos for the beam , allso if you look under the beam section here theirs a good build thread for it to good luck . jim

Inwoods are doing the DX7 + AR7000 for £170. Google them, they are based in Huntingdon but do mail order. Seem like a decent bunch of blokes to me.

Hi James - Got mine a week or so ago from Rob, but only got round to building it on Monday - It is straight forward with finless's vids. Not one screw missing or problems that I've experienced with other heli's.

Got all the electrics today and just about to start installing. Building is great - it's the damn setting up that fries my brain.

Went with the Dx6i - decent at a great price.

                Good luck with the build.

As said previously, the Finless videos are worth watching, a big download for all of them though but otherwise just take it steady. The quality of the components is good and it builds well. For servos use Hitec HS65mg's or if you can spring a little extra HS5065mg's which are the digital version, they work well and the metal gears mean you wont be replacing them after a crash.

I'm happily using a Spektrum 6100 receiver which would go well with either a DX6i or DX7, again if you can afford the extra the DX7 would be a better bet. For the tail I'm using a 401 gyro with the Align DS520 servo, a combination that works very well, the Align combo with the Align RCE600 gyro & DS520 servo looks good value too.

The Beam is the sweetest flying 450 size heli I've ever flown and with decent kit will do whatever you want.

Nope, they will loosen up after 5 or so flights.

                          James,

Welcome to the best place for build and feedback on the beam in the UK mate!

Any question you have my number from the other day, just give me a ring..

But the guys on here, know where to point you, we was all newbie once.

The build is really quite straight fwd, even for someone new like yourself.

Although Craig said that it was a bit fiddley, never found that but I am sure he will be more than happy to explain why that was..
but he is having fun with it now so well worth it..

But a offer of a phone call is there if your not sure my friend,

There only two things from the off to check, that is the two screws in the center of the seesaw, that screw into the center hub, need to me removed and thread locked as not carried out at the factory..

And the main grips thrusts need to be greased..

So the rest of the thread locking is down to you.

I have on order 5.5mm nut spinners to aid the striping of the head and they will be with us next week, subject to post..

So will be added to Beam section..

Must be indoor flying week, as a quite few more have gone.

100 pounds wow, next your be telling her that's 12" mate!

Talk soon, Thanks for the order by the way..
