Here is the build blog by Jibberjabber:

Also, Richieclarkie and Machasm (Adrian) both fly them at DMHC and have made useful posts. Just do a search for Beam and loads of info is available.

I would definatly buy one one of these if I didnt already have a 450. They look great and reports are they fly great too.

        Great buy.
I have one and it flys fantastic. Dare I say even better than my 450 I used to own (V1 and V2).
Only thing I don't like is the canopy colour in silver and white. I believe that you cannow purchase one with red and black but I havn't checked.
As for the build the only thing I had a bit of bother with is the feathering shaft as it uses 2 nyloc nuts instead of the usual hex heads. I don't have any spinners that fit and had to be a bit inventive to secure them.
I would suggest you get a hold of these before the kit arrives. M5 or M6 I think.
        Adrian.

Make sure you have 2 x 5.5mm socket hex drivers for doing the feathering shaft.

Buy some High Tensile M2x12 socket head cap screws for the main shaft. I sheared one of the stock ones at the weekend and it ended up in the ditch.

Buy some philips head miniature screwdrivers. The miniscule screws are a pita.

It does fly real nice though once you get it built.

Hi- got mine around a week ago and only just put it together - the blade grips were fully put together and I can see threadlock around the nuts securing the feathering shaft - would you recommend taking it apart? Or shall I just use as is?

            Cheers.

              Paz.

There only two things from the off to check, that is the two screws in the center of the seesaw, that screw into the center hub, need to me removed and thread locked as not carried out at the factory..

And the main grips thrusts need to be greased..remove one nut securing the feathering shaft, worth greasing dampers while there as well.

So the rest of the thread locking is down to you.

I have on order 5.5mm nut spinners to aid the striping of the head and they will be with us next week, subject to post..

So will be added to Beam parts section..
