If I was looking for an electric 600 this is where id look.
Yeah I will look at it a bit closer. I didn't even know it existed until fairly recently! It looks very nice in the pics and I'll see what I can find out. It is another £100.00 more, which is a factor as I budgeted for the beam at £350.00. I just have to consider all the pros and cons. Two things I really like about the 6HV and the Beam is having the Lipos in front and not underneath inside the frames and the simplicity of having the servos right up there direct to the swash. With my Trex 500 it's so easy to swap out the Lipo because it's in front like that, whereas the Rave is so friggin fiddly feeding the Lipos inside the frames and getting them strapped in, so I am trying to balance all this and have something super easy to deal with so I spend the most time flying and the least time fiddling with stuff (which starts to make nitro look better and better actually :-)

Yeah, this is very true. It's just that before you buy something is when you have all these options and once you commit to something then it's done (unless you have unlimited funds). And (I hope) this will be the last heli I buy for quite a while. I know it's 'famous last words' but I really think I have all the bases covered and then some with my other helis so I'd like to buy once and buy right with this one.

Beam Avant Garde, I'm about to push the button

The beams look very nice, I don't think I've ever seen anything bad posted about them on any of the forums.

Really like the look of that E4 v2

        Very nice.

OK, it is done. Not to sound overly dramatic I have bought the Beam. I spent a long time looking at everything I could find on the JR and it is very nice but I chose the Beam for a few reasons. One is that the JR is heavier, it also appears to have a fixed gear ratio which means you have to work around this with motor KV choice and I already have a motor. Then there's the price factor, not a huge deal but it adds to the equation. It does look very cool though and I love the look of the 3 blade head version.
Also in the Beam's favour is the direct to swash servo placement and belt driven tail.

I also had a browse at the Gauis earlier, looked at the Logos again, a quick glance at the Synergys and MinAir Furion. I had already spent a good amount of time looking at the Compass and if the Beam wasn't out I would most likely buy the Compass. In actual fact the Compass does have a couple plus's over the Beam, one of which is more pinion choices and parts costs. I think the weight of the two is very close.

So thanks everyone for your suggestions and input, it is truly appreciated and I took on board everything that has been said.

The Beam has arrived. It was delivered on Monday but I have literally been too busy to do much more than a quick glance.

I will do a build thread soon.

This is attached to the outside of the box, I assume it is the upgraded one-way hub. There is also a one-way assembly in the kit so I'll need to read up on this when I start the build.
