  • DFC Dampers?

Just a little question to everyone who has a DFC head, do you lube the plastic dampers? As i did on my first set and they jus worn out really quick. Seen as they are plastic surley they dont need greasing? And the grease would jus degrade the dampers?

Any like to shed a little light on this cheers Chris

I use plastic safe grease. I think its quite normal for the DFC dampers to wear out very quickly. It will depend on your type of flying though.

The softer ones I had were too soft to start with so I took them out after about 10 flights, they were a bit sorry looking, the material looked frayed at the edges. The harder Align ones, I haven't had enough flights with it to tell with all this bad weather. This is on a 450 pro upgraded with Align DFC head.

if you can get shaft in i would say its probly not needed but i use silicone grease as normal will corrode rubber and plastic

I have 2 x 700n with the DFC heads and just used normal silicone grease for the dampers.

One thing thats bothering me though is that the head with standard align dampers in has the slightest amount of play in the head where as the other 700 dfc head that came on a second hand heli has no play at all but the dampers are green and look to be pinched tight.

            Any ideas?

I found the pom dampeners didnt last very long at all so i stuck some kbdd lime greens in, still going strong after over 100 flights
