On assembly and I would suggest trying to do the same, is I spun the new black umbrella gear in a drill and wet & dryed the shaft on which the bearings sit to reduce it's size a little. When I measured old and new parts there was an increase in diameter of approx 0.14mm, the old white gear is a tight fit in the bearings, so any bigger and it's even worse.

Damn, just fitted my new gears.
It was a tight fit into the bearings, had to squeeze it in using the Black and Decker Workmate as a vice.
Hope I don't have to get a new set again.
Only did the tail set, left the white ones up front.
    Also got the Rail blades.
    Not tried it yet.
    Mines the Electric version.
Don't know what the problem sounds like anyway so not even sure that I had the problem but would have hated to have crashed it for the sake of the change.

I had the same prob with my black gears
I put them in the fridge for an hour or two and they fitted no probs
Prob wrong way to do it but it worked and no buzz

No buzz on me E version, running white gears, stepped tail shaft and Align tail blades so the problem doesn't affect every single model.

I agree the upgrade is prudent but I am leaving mine as is for now.
