  • 700n Clutch failed, align, quk or lynx new one?

Flew my 700 this afternoon and had a couple of good flights but the standard clutch failed and on closer inspection has snapped on the thinnest part of the arm,is there really any reason for going aftermarket in terms of strength/life span or should i stick to align as i always have? if yes to aftermarket should i be looking at quk.lynx or others?

Is model new, second hand don't no history or well used, on ever done a 600 one and that was worn out, or is liner worn, which makes shoe expand further

The 700 clutches are shat, seen far too many clutch problems to know you may as well just change it from the word go. Ive just ordered a lynx clutch and liner after seeing pics of one where the shoe had been bent out to almost 90' and hadnt snapped! Pretty strong if you ask me

ive had the 700 from new and this was the original clutch that came with it! probably had it two years and fly every weekend usually so its not done bad bud, the liner is very shiny but looks to have a bit of meat left on it yet, theres no play anywhere or anything untoward so i think its just wear and tear! just want some opinions on different clutches pros and cons before i try a non align one!

Thanks for that tonystevens, is the liner to be replaced with a new clutch everytime?

Not always but as gixerman said a worn liner could be the cause of the clutch breaking, in my case i suspect the clutch is slipping so a new liner was needed and the align clutch is guaranteed to break at some point so i thought id replace it anyway.

Is a shiny liner signs of use or the liner getting tired? gonna buy a new one anyway for peace of mind, and take a look at fastlads later at lynx unless you know somewhere cheaper tony

Would a lynx clutch be ok with align liners as i have spare liners here, super glue or epoxy for the liner?

QuickUK clutch here, over 150 flights, never a problem. Installed from heli being brand new, because run out on std clutch was massive on the dial gauge.

Think he is saying he dials his clutch in, then no vibes, like you have on n9
