Evening fellow nitro fliers,my first venture into nitro and i feel like a complete noob again,so here is a few silly questions,
1 can i build the model and install electrics without the engine
2 looking at os 105,been reading that the hz is simpler than the hzr,ie less to go wrong, would the hz be a good choice engine?
3 which remote glow should i get
4 what pipe is best if i go os105hz
5 what battery are you using for rx power
6 what fuel should i be running
7 is the align starter good enough for 105 engine or will i have to go dynatron
8 HOW DO I START IT
    oh its a 700 dfc

    thanks
    Vinny

i help with what i can my align struggles on my 91 dont see why u cant use a cheep starter like an ervine superstarter on 4 cell but a dynatron would work from the word go

i personally would go non regulated espeacialy if ya new to nitro i use a switch glow it beeps when u got glo

to start attatch glo or switch on glow start then spin up with starter MAKE SURE its not at high throtle and hold blade grip tight Always hold bladw grip use what ever lipo ballances heli best i use outrage lipos there light for the mah they hold 5000mah is about 300-335 grams 20% fuel is fine 30% more power but make sure engine has the right shiming on head

think most use powerboost pipe but if you find equivalent funtech pipe they are cheaper (os pipe are made by funtech)

    hope this helps terry

oh yeah and you can build without engine just have to remove skids and bottome plate to fit engine later 5 min job

duno what fuel your gonna be using but i use but i use rapicon it just works but it realy looks after your engine gives great power its oily but when heli is tuned or close to tuned heli gets nowhere near as greasy as other fuels whitch is a plus and engine runs cooler and bearings last soo much longer

always try run on the rich side until you know what your doin 105 should have oodles of power even when spluttery rich also this is a big engine try not lean it out ubtill at least a few gallon burnned after run in (should last longer with more power ) If you dont abuse it to soon

A few things; For RX power it partly depends on the servers you're using and the RX or FBL unit. You can run everything at 5 volts using a regulator and 2 cell LiPo but you may have other options if the RX or FBL unit has a built-in step-down for RX power and if the swash servos can handle higher voltage.

It's hard to say on the Align starter, some seem to have more punch than others. Mine struggles with a .91 and I have seen at least one OS105 with a lot more compression, to where even the Dynatron struggled a bit (had to use a 6s LiPo).

I use the Align for everything smaller and the Dynatron for .91 and above.

Fuel is largely a personal preference thing, I have been running all my nitro helis on 15% Rapicon and they all seem to do very well on it.

As its the 700 DFC combo I'm guessing it will have the new hv align servos in it so I'd run it on a life pack if you have a life capable charger vinny.

You can run ds610 & ds650 on life packs so I don't see a problem with the ds615
You decided not to sell it then mate?

Yeh it can't be long vinny I think you made the right descision. I would love another Align 90 nitro but I'm maxed out on my spending for this year. so it's going to have to be a Birthday present around May time.
