700n Main Gear play

I have been trying to trace an odd rattle for a week or 2 and although it flys fine I'm never happy until I've sorted things like this out. I've found that the main gear can move up and down on the one way shaft. Now the one way is tight up against the bottom main shaft bearing so there is no float there. It seems like there should be something between the main and tail drive gear. I've gone over the manual but there isn't anything there that looks like it's missing, I confused...

Is it a mod 1 gear Dave?

No it's the original 0.7 Tony. It's as if there should be a spacer or a ring covering the bottom bearing in the one way hub.

hmm, heard a few people complaining about this with the mod 1 gear before but not the original gear. i suppose it wouldn't hurt to put a shim between the gears?

The bit that I find odd is the tail drive gear has a shoulder on top where it fits up against the bottom bearing and inside the one way hub, so doesn't look like there is room for a shim.

Ordered the Mod 1 gear set so will have a better look when it arrives
