Accucel-6 charger says "BREAK DOWN"

Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories (UK Warehouse)

Tried recharging NiMH three times. Each time i set it off and come back in about an hour. The display says "BREAK DOWN". The manual just says "There happens the malfunction at the charger circuit by any reason" (chinese !?)

Questions

1. Hobby King claimed on their site:
"There are several chargers now entering the China market that look similar to the Accucel. These chargers are produced with cheaper FET's and are unfortunately much less accurate and very unsafe. There has been reports of the copied chargers over-charging packs and not balancing correctly."
So what have they sold me a charger that is potentially from china?

2. Anyone know what the "BREAK DOWN" could be - or should I send it back?

Cant believe this farcical Hobby King
I raised a support ticket, took them a day to come back. They asked for detailed steps I took. I explained in forensic detail every step action and procedure, every button press every minute of activity.
Took them another day to come back, now they want a video. My camera doesn't hook up to a PC, and the camera on my iphone is defunct. Even if I could record a video (of god knows what), i would not know how to attach this to their online mail form ?!
I also explained that there is a electrical burning smell (no smoke just an odor) on power on.
Did mention that I like the size. the price and functionality, and would prefer to keep it, but it simply does not work.
They are not interested.
Its a joke.
Not sure where I stand with trading standards and the law, as they operate from Hong Kong but have a depot in the UK allegedly

Upshot - Do not buy from HobbyKing and congratulations if you have bought something with no issues. Good luck when it fails.
