I will use this thread as an example:

    http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/align-...d-govenor.html

Particularly your response to me and other members after this post http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/align-...tml#post917137

You set up a throttle curve so that 50% (half throttle) doesn't necessarily mean you're giving 50% power to the motor - you tweak the response of the throttle to the model, the engine and also your liking.

A governor however, governs the speed of the blade automatically for you. You program it (each brand is different) to maintain a head speed as best it can. Like said above, as you move the throttle stick, the angle (pitch) in the blades increases to give lift. This increase in lift, increases the load to the engine (as said above, like driving up hill). As the load increases, the engine is unable to maintain a constant head speed, so you lose climbing power etc. A governor monitors the head speed using a sensor and a magnet that passes it with each rotation. The governor then adjusts the throttle servo accordingly.

    Hope this makes sense.

As said above, you've come here asking for help which is great We can answer according to your skill level as best we can, however, it isn't the responsibility of members to search your posts and gauge precisely this skill level.

Also, it is very complex but enjoyable hobby, so a lot of reading and research is always involved. Call me a geek, but that's a very important and enjoyable part of the hobby for me

Apologies. I gather this was aimed at my offer to sell the Revlock. No worries, just thought I'd offer!

As you will see, my post has been edited, but I am not of the nature to me offensive, and then edit my post to 'back pedal' I simply added information and fixed mistakes. Any admin will be able to see the previous version of the post before the edit.

Rather than a simple "sorry lads, I still do not quite understand", you had a go and wrote this reply:

I have been a member of many forums over the last 10 years, and I know that emotion can be mistaken on a virtual environment, but you were just plain rude to myself and other members who only joined the thread to offer YOU help.

Don't expect any PM from me.

"back pedal", "had a go". Harry, get out a bit more and take a few deep breaths of country air. Life will throw all sorts of challenges that will really test your character and resolve, learn to understand how people communicate and the key is that no-one is perfect, and written form takes around %75 of the message away when compared to verbal communication. To err is to be human. Dont worry and have a good night. I really dont mind if you just help someone else now Harry. Thanks.

          Hi
Yes that is a very good question. I didnt actually get into the hobby hitherto and most likely was ignorant of how the systems all pull together to get these birds flying.
I guess he started it but for some reason I have not been the recipient of the fabled starter. I cant ask my uncle as he is deceased but his pals used to frequent the same flying club down south somewhere.
Anyway, i have some great links from the kind people above which i am going to explore. i think I need to budget for around £70 for a good starter, pack and shaft.
          Many thanks

          Darren

Not the point being made at that post; it is an alternative to the car battery which you raised as an issue thus giving you an extra choice.

I am after a rechargeable ideally, rather than something than connects to a car battery

Ah i see. okay. thanks for clarifying that. much obliged.
In fact, on reflection, the car battery wouldnt be to bad a resource for power as where I [plan to] fly is common land , unoccupied, and neither animal or humans in sight, and I can drive a car upto a large clearing. Not ideal for all conditions but for now, the car battery may be an option.
              Cheers buddy

                Welcome.

A good point with those jump starters is they have a cig lighter socket which I use for my power panel

JP MOSFET PULSE IC POWER PANEL | eBay

leaving the croc clips for direct supply to the starter leads. Plus it keeps charged for yonks.

Neon rotors is not a starter, its a person.

He came on here, got loads of advice and help off the forum but had a really bad attitude.

We helped him still, even gave him a free heli. He constantly threw his toys out of his pram and we found the heli we gave him for free on ebay shortly afterwards for sale.

People are likening you to him because people are giving you advice with all the good will in the world and you seem to find a way to cause a fight.

Before you go off on one about anything else, or anyone else, you have to consider that the only common factor in most of your threads is you, yet these are the only threads that ive seen in weeks that contain disagreements between forum members.

No disrespect to you meant by the above, its just a fact.
