    Instructions

I don't (currently) use this tool, but his instructions seem close to what I do - so may be worth a read through.

For instance (following on from Jimmy), an AR7200BX with BeastX, the 90 degree servo arms are set up in the set-up menu of said unit. Oddly enough, when it came to setting top and bottom level it said not to, that the controller was good for it. Sure enough, once I'd set level in the middle position the top and bottom were both spot on.

Had it been a flybarred head, if you had found it was out at the top of travel then you would have used the transmitter to adjust the servo endpoints. This basically makes the servo move the same distance as its nieghbours once set correctly. You can set endpoints for each direction of travel.

SInce you do have FBL, follow the control units instructions to the letter. They describe the sequence you have to go through to get it set-up properly. The BX is great for this as there's seldom any backpedalling.

As a matter of interest, what fbl unit do you have?

The length of the links in themanual is usually correct for above the swashplate. You do need a vernier and get it to 0.1mm. It is not a starting point unless something is bent. Links that are paired need to be the same length. Links from the servos will vary depending on the servos used. You need to get the swash level at all heights as it goes up and down. For learning though you only need a narrow range of pitch movement as you will only be hovering at almost constant pitch. Finless videos really overdo things and I see no point in going that far when in reality a gust of wind will have to be corrected for. The most important thing is for someone to check the heli for you. Getting it right on your own first time is not that likely. Certainly I didn't.

I will remind that, for beginners, BeastX manual from -= BEASTX - BE ABSOLUTE STABLE =- is better (more thorough) than AR7200BX user guide so it's good to check there, in case of any doubts.

              Been playing with some...

It seemed to make the set-up massively quicker and easier.
