Having had considerable feedback on insurance, I was wondering whether policies tend to provide cover at specific locations, public spaces, private spaces, or something else?
my position is that I would fly on common land, probably owned by the council, a rural area with public footpaths, horse trek paths and so on. Big open spaces in areas.
How does insurance work for RC helis.

As long as you have permission of the land owner your fine

Does not matter if its a plane or helicopter

When you don't have permission that's an issue and a there's a lot of common land where flying is NOT permitted so check local by-laws

just check the local by-laws online for that area, if it says No then its a No

my local common has a sign saying models under 5kg allowed the other common in the city flying is not allowed

how you check with your local council is up to you

You might want to get someone to ask for you, in case you want to say at some point that you don't know. It's not just bye laws according to my council.

Not to do with insurance but flying on a beach would be a no no, sand being pulled into the carb and then into the engine, the sand will destroy your blades too.

Hi Keratos I know from other members on here that southport beach is a deffinite NO, so it might be the same up at your neck of the woods.
Worth a check though you never know.
Plus contact your local clubs they will definitely have the answers.
