just started my "day 1" flying, learning about the heli structure, servos, gyros, mech setup, and moving onto the transmitter setup. I dont understand curves. Throttle and Pitch curves. Does anyone have a link to a laymans document?

Welcome to the forum first and foremost, the throttle and pitch curve part is reasonably easy to explain and chuck a few links up. What heli is though?

This one will sort you out, although the best way to do it is to read it again with the Tx in front of you, then read it again and probably again. Then keep it close when you set the model up. Then go to the little boys room, take it with you and read it again

guys, i dont understand any of those two documents/sites you link to.

they refer to things I dont undertstand, for example:

idle-up
0-25-50-675-100
curves
flat out

Grab the manual for your Tx, hand in hand work through both documents. The terminology is half of the story. The figures refer to a way of adjusting the output of a channel or channels depending on stick position. Read the manuals and then ask again and the answers will start to make sense, otherwise as you've just worked out the answers are going to be similar to the documents you've just read.
