So i recently swapped my 700n HV. I had a couple of concerns going into the change, the on board glow and the switch. I was coming from a Gryphon regulator with a mini booster glow lighter and an always on pin flag switch. First surprise when removing the reg and switch was that the mini booster is a standalone unit and that it can take up to 16v input. This is now kept :-)
The second issue was ease of having a switch so you don't have to remove the canopy between flights. Well after a bit of thought and Googleing I decided to get a set of quick uk magnetic canopy mounts, now I can rip the canopy on and off in a flash so don't mind having the battery plug being the switch. All I have done is soldered two servo plugs onto a deans. These plug straight into the FBL.
i have completely decluttered my electrics, just keeping the optiguard. While talking about the guard, my LEDs are permanently on, I think this is an old firmware issue, however when I unplug the battery the LEDs do flash and the unit powers the heli so for now I am happy.
last thing I notice this set up uses less battery mah per flight than my old set up,
