So who's still flying a 700n? Just read an interview from Pedro Pete saying how he is looking forward to getting one this spring. So old school flybarred or new DFC 700n and everything in between (it's about 7yrs old) who's still flying a 700n- I for one love mine :-)

It's purely for nostalgia I prefer the flybar. People will look at it in years to come and say... WTF is that?!?!Originally posted by waveydavey View PostWhen I first got the 700 Andy K said exactly the same, stick with the flybar he said one of the best helis he's flown he said, it lasted a day, off it came no more flappy paddles for me, ever

Mine is over 3 yr old now and has clocked a few hours in the air...it crashed on its maiden take off when a ELE servo stopped working and had to be rebuilt...and it almost came a cropper this past Sunday when the tail let go seconds after taking off it went into a very fast piro...fortunately its in one peace I like my Trex 700 mines fitted with a YS 120sr and a SK540 and is very smooth and sounds nice too...Heli central...Basildon RC helis...strictly helis only...

I am total opposite Dave, haven't left my e700 alone, i also have a V1 700N and haven't touched it all last season. I will make a effort to try on my vbar control.Originally posted by waveydavey View PostMine is probably older (V1) and by far the one I love the most. OS 105, old style flybarless Align head, slightly modified and Vortex. For shear flying feel and balance I think it would be hard to beat. I really like my Raptor e700 but it hasn't had a look in once I got the 700 running well.Santander Factory Team

YES! I love my old TREX 700n V1 with old-school flybar. I bought it from Stu Smith in 2010 and it's remained unmodified since. It is a fairly stock setup with GP750 gyro and OS91HZ engine. The servos are JR8915s which pull a lot of amps so drain the flight pack quickly but the handling of the heli is just lovely. It only flies a couple of times a year, usually when I'm thinking I should sell it, only for me to think "hey, this ain't going anywhere!". Obviously I love my big electrics too, but this heli feels great for very different reasons and given the low resale value it makes sense to keep it even for infrequent flying.
