  • Governor always ON -- TREX-700 Nitro FBL

    Dear PRO member,,

I have remote Futaba 6EX (6-Channel). All channel were occupied,, hence I fly 3D..

Thanks God,, I've additional money to buy governor RCE-G600. I have read the manual, it seems what I need to do just simply install magnet and disconnect cable from throttle servo to RX, connect RX(TH-Channel) to input RCE-G600, connect output RCE-G600 to throttle servo.

My question is,, I don't have spare channel to switch ON/OFF my governor. Could I change it with mechanical switch....???
So then,, if I want to use my governor, ,I just simply turn ON the mech-switch, and vice-versa...

Is there any problem,, for my modification...??? Because my Friends always saying,, "buy 7CH remote or more,, for Ur good"... (I need different answer,, best solution from PRO around the world)

    Thanks & Regards.

With the gov being plugged into the flybarless unit usually u would assign to aux 2 so yes I think u would need a 7 channel remote if you don't have a spare channel as the signal wire will activate gov on or off .

So,, the point is,, I will use JUMPER (wire OR switch) to PUT my GOVERNOR in ON mode (always)... Because I only have 6-Channel Tx..... Is it okay...?? Is there any concern regarding this issue...??? Maybe,, helicopter might be crash because of malfunction Governor.....???

        Hey.

Unfortunately you won't be able to use a mechanical switch with this governor, the controlling wire that normally gets plugged into channel 7 (AUX2) receives a PWM signal input and it is this signal that tells the governor at what speed you want the head speed governed at. Without any digital proportional signal going into this line the governor has no given data at which to govern at.

I cannot remember if the CSM RevLock allowed you to use it without the need for a channel 7 on the Tx now, it's been so long since I've used a governor.

The other option and probably your best, would be to grab hold of a Throttle Jockey, as I think this can be used in a sort of limiter mode only and an upper rpm limit can be set that will then not be passed. Again though, cannot remember if it can be used without a channel 7 input.
