  • 600n tail fixing

My shop called me yesterday to tell me my 600n was in so a drive to collect it was the order of the day and while Pegasus Models closes at 6pm they were more than happy to keep the shop open until I drove the 100 or so miles ! They closed the shop at 9pm as the wife and I left! Now that is service..........

Having read the posts of the tail coming lose I have fixed mine as shown below. You just replace the six hex plastic spacers with metal ones drilled and tapped 3mm. I used ali hex bar but to make it easy for anyone without a workshop cut off some round ali rod and drill and tap 3mm and epoxy into one half of the tail casing. This will stop it turning while putting the 3mm cap heads in.

www.ukheli.com will cover the build of the T-Rex 600 nitro as it is built

For those who want a simple answer just buy one pack of six metal bearing hex spacers, HN6018, these are the same sizes etc as the plastic ones used on the tail holder. £5.99..............

Glad you liked it ! The shops may be sold out of the spacers soon

As you may have seen I have just started the build on the web site but I am sure other tips will come along the way ! Just need a little more time as I am just finishing a Raptor SE build too.

I will be spinning the fan on the lathe to try to clock it true with other reports I have read

                Thanks.

Put a 2 marks on the Torque Tube a few mm inside where it meets the tail case and frame housing, I have heard stories of the Torque Tube working loose and the first you know about it is when tail drive is lost. I believe Ade stuck a screw in his to keep it in place. I scored mine with a scalpel so if I ever see the marks I know it has moved out slightly.

Just spoken to BobJ and he should have these parts in later this week, he also said that with all the flying his one has had, none on the 12 screws have come lose

Still a worthwhile mod for the money / peace of mind

I have only made two spacer so far in the workshop as this was just a test plus other things to do, also my web build has not got the the tail yet !

A learner at DMHC had the lightest of tail touches on Sat and stripped a front gear

Align need to make the front gears metal and the one on the tailshaft metal with just the gear that comes from the TT being plastic and acting as a sacraficial gear thats easy to replace

The front ones are a pain,,,mine have been good so far but i have kept the tail rotor clear of the firm stuff
