Im just getting back into helis after a little break. Ive got a 600XN and its really starting to test my patience.
Ive had quite a few 600 nitros over the years and never experienced this issue before. Looking at all the forums seems to be a common thing so went about the usual suggestions but have failed miserably.
The jesus bolt is nipped up finger tight the bearing sleeve looks true. In addition i have been through various brands of oob and now resorted to changing other bits of the transmission but after yet another test flight today it locked up....... so far i have tried the following :-
Replaced original bearing with Align replacement - fail
Replaced the replacement with a branded bearing from simply bearings - fail
Replaced the replacement of the replacement with a NSKFC12 (suggested in another forum) these are apparently the same as the BOCA recommendation - fail
Changed mainshaft and bearing sleeve put another nsk in - fail
Now im really scratching my head. I have oiled the bearing with sewing machine oil that i have seen suggested in many other posts, havent tried ATF yet. Must admit in the earlier 600's i had always used the align grease but these days people say not to use it. Never had issues in the past.
I cant get a bearing case as they are permanently out of stock. Was tempted to replace the gears but they have had little use and spin true so couldnt see that being an issue.
Ill take any suggestions and give them a try as the heli actually flies really nice but i just cant stop the lock. The NSK will free up by hand where the previous ones had been a removal job BUT there doesnt appear to be any damage everything is in its place as it should be.
