Getting very excited about my new heli that is arriving soon,i bought this 2nd hand on bmfa site and just wanted to ask a few questions about it.I have heard there is a few problems with tail authourity on this model,just wanted to know if anyone out there is flying one with out any problems just stock to be honest, before i venture into longer tail blades and gear moding etc.I have a trex 500 which likes a high head speed so used to running those,as long as i get a good 5 mins of flight with my batteries not really that bothered else would have bought a nitro but having both electric heli's now not missing the tuning and starting issues which come with them.
The packs i have are turnigy 4000 mah x2 per flight,also wondering do u guys use the castle ice governer or just run a flat throttle curve ? and if so any settings u guys are having success with would be greatly appreicated

If its anything like the so called tail problem on the 500 DFC pro it's not an issue.
I was worried that the tail would blow out on the 500 after all I'd read but at 2900 headspeed it hasn't & boy have I tried to make it do so. The 600 pro is designed to turn 2500 rpm headspeed set it up to do that & relax as your tail will hold fine.

4000mah lipos might be a bit of a squeeze, depends which ones they are. I run my EFL on 3300mah packs and set my timer for 5 minutes. My head speed is 2150 according to the castle creations governor software, and I run 105mm blades. I've never had the tail blow out. My mate runs a similar machine, but with a slightly higher head speed. He runs the standards tail blades and pushes the tail very hard, and I've never heard him complain about the tail.

Its a great machine and flies with the authority of a bigger machine. You will not be disappointed.

I changed my blades from the start, so I can't comment about the standard tail blades. I think its only becomes a problem if you are running a sub 2100/2200 rpm head speed, or if you tend to bog the head down at the wrong time.

The only other thing to watch out for is the canopy. It looks fab on the floor, but I found it useless in flight, even on a bright day (I tend to use the canopy for orientation) so swapped it for something brighter.

I use Turnigy 3300s in mine and I run it non-governed. I usually fly at about 85% throttle as I like to fly a more smoother style of 3D but change it up occasionally. With good collective management I can get an easy 6+ minutes of flight. At crazy head speeds I get over 5 minutes no problem. If you use the governor you will only get about 2200rpm with the stock gearing.

Lol yeah sure i will be needing some help from u mate thats almost a dead cert,was thinking of putting a spektrum beastx on rather than the 3Gx as well but not sure i got any money left at mo
