  • Time for a new motor?

Now that my 3D is getting 'harder' my heli is starting to bog more and more in tic toes and other manoeuvres.

I'm currently running the 600 on an 8S set up (2x 4200mAh 4S lipos @ 18C). They are on their way out so I will soon be getting 2x 5000mAh 4S @ 40C Turnigy lipos.

However I'm not sure about my motor. It's a Plettenberg Orbit 25-8, when I bought it I was told it will work fine on 8S (even though on the Plettenberg website it says for 6S). The motor has always run ok on 8S. But will getting something like a HKIII-4025-550 Scorpion or Scorpion HK3-4020-1100KV or an Align RCM-BL600MX give much more noticeable performance?

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Ollie.

I have a 650L motor in my 600ESP and a 600MX motor in my 550E. The 600MX is a later and apparently a more powerful motor than the 650L. So I thought I would take the more powerful mortor from the 550 heli and put it in the 600 heli - makes sense I think. I can't tell any difference. So I put them back where they were.

I realise it's meant to be more powerfull and efficient - the point I was making is that, in my experience, I couldn't notice any difference in a back to back comparison.

            I can. I had the 600L, 600M, 650L, 600XL and the 600MX in either of my 2 x 600E Cfs. The 600MX came out tops.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?
