Very nice stable model that goes together and flies very well, it would suit somebody moving up from a 450 !, or for the more experienced pilot a great heli for trying out new moves without worrying about costs etc. Align T-Rex 550 Kits - Align - Electric Helicopters - Helicopters | Midland Helicopters Ltd It also uses single packs which is another bonus on pricing and charging.

A 550 size model with a 700 size motor. Get ready for another reduction in flight time and packs that killed in short order!

I wouldn't necessarily put this down as a suitable stepping stone with that stock motor.

Pretty much the same as the current DFC one except for that silly motor

Mines the current one 6 months old I think, been no trouble but I normally retire Align airframes after a year but wouldn't replace it with another unless they did a motor up top, sliding lipo tray,700DFC servo layout version with a non DFC head, that might tempt me.

Replacement for me would be the Logo 550SX.

In the add for the model it goes on about the lower current but higher power. Yeah right! A 6S setup with a motor that pulls 115Amps. I am sorry but get ready for another round of big puffed up packs that will be dead in about 30 cycles.

I run mine on 12s (600mx 510kv) and its ok.

So I would drop a 700 or 750mx 530kv in the new one due to the bigger cutouts in the frames and run it 12s.

As stock on 6s. Ha ha ha ha
Using the supplied Talon 90. HA HA HA

                Get the extinguisher

Anybody looked at 8s 3600mah with a 12 tooth pinion!

Might be a better option than 6s

I thought it was a typo when i first saw it, a 730MX motor? Seems extreme to me, they have ventured quite a way from the original 1220kv too, now 850Kv with a new 16T pinion. I dont understand the reasoning other than giving off the impression bigger is better. Would be worth going 8S on it with the original sized pinions.

I cant see the point of all that power in a 550 heli ! Longer flight time are better and just as much fun.

This is another new kit - as yet unreleased in the UK.
                            Cheers,

It still begs the question why such a powerful motor with a 6S setup?

Would be worth going 8S on it with the original sized pinions.

As the motor has been specifically designed for a 6S setup increasing the voltage will make things worse for flight time as the motor will be producing even more power. However if there is another 750MX motor with a lower kV then that would be the way to go if you are sure that such a small model needs all this power.
