I had a 3s pack which tbh and in my experience are no better than packs I get from Hong kong on ebay...I would go for a better c rating than the 20c pack which rceccleston has mentioned. you can get 2 packs delivered for £30 from HK.
All depend on your flying style/requirements.

44 amps continuous and 66 amps burst should be enough considering the standard 3s esc can only handle 25/35 amps.

I am running some of the new 35c overlander extremme packs, flew them back to back with the standard 25c ones and it was like flying my rave on a 3s and then a 4s the diff was so great, have tons of power, i can't bog the head no matter how hard i try on my rave and that is running 350mm blades as well on a 3s set-up.
Have only run about 10 cycles through these at the moment but are very constant and only start to drop off at the end

but its not all about out right c ratings. generally speaking a higher rated pack will not onl deliver much higher burts and continuous power, but it will also hold on to the voltage a lot better and thus headspeed, and also, the more over-rated your pack is, the cooler it should run giving a longer life cycle. this gets over-looked a lot!

I know you are doing well with these James so an option indeed.

Its out of the Revos, Outrage and overlanders. I'm leaning towards the revos if i can get them purely on their pedigree and likeliness of cycle life. All depends on price and availability

As they say, you get what you pay for.

But then again, a hardcore flyer wouldn't be considering cheap batteries.

No idea yet on how well these will last out, but all the 25c ones in the boys collection are over a year old now and still a ok.
Electrolite are also worth a look, they do a 30c batt, i tested one of these back at there launch and was impressed, don' think it would touch the xtremme packs though
I am very impressed with your outrage packs mark, i expect a similar performance on all mentioned really

I'm still running them in.. but very first couple of initial flights and still running them in, seem pretty good. A bit more power than some 2200 pack i have been using, and also seem better than some branded makes which I have borrowed from friends.

Time will tell how well they last.. but I think for the money, they offer good value.
                        Great seller!

Did you confirm the charge rating on these batteries?

Many EBay sellers confirmed a charging rate lower than 1c on similar batteries, when I inquired recently.

                        Good Luck!

I generally charge at slightly lower than 1c. I've tried the Mystery 2200 25c, which are serving me pretty well at the moment. On 12T on the 450, they are fine.. but on the 450 with a 13T they come out a bit hot for my liking, and they puff a little from pretty much sport flying. The puffiness does go when the pack cools down. I think pushing them any harder on 13T will probably won't see the packs lasting very long. The 2450 30c packs don't run as hot, and haven't had any puffing on this, but as I said, I am still running them in, so taking it easy with them at the moment

I am sure that I will probably pick up a couple of Aurorra packs as soon as I get my 450v3

Do they puff within the 80/20 rule or are you landing when the esc reduces power?

I ran 3s Mystery 2400Mah 15c batteries on a Esky King 2, for hovering last year. They often puffed, cause they had a low C rating and I worked them too hard.

I didn't know better at the time.

They puffed well within the 80/20 rule. I took it very easy as I had already heard storeys that 13T on the 450 would work any packs with the 430xl motor. ChrisB also advised me that he had tried the 13T and he found that the packs came out too hot for his liking.

I'm Looking at an alternative motor..maybe esc for a bit more power.. and something which maybe not so hard on the battery.. but I may wait for the 450v3, and see what that has to offer.

Considering the Scorpion motors as an alternative to the 430xl, but don't really like the sound of having to oil the bearings so often.

I've got a scorpion 2221-8 in my 450 and only lube the bearings every 10-15 flights, or when I remember it's still going strong after probably 150+ flights on the original bearings so I wouldn't let that put you off. It's barely warm after each flight too which can only be a good thing
