Is it an optical illusion, or does it not look much smaller that the 500 EFL Pro ?

The current ALIGN stuff really is very nice from what I've seen...

The blades are not that much smaller. 425mm vs 360mm, so its less than 10cm in rotor disc size. The frames however are quite a lot smaller.

I've just had a bit of a more spirited flight with it around the back of a mates industrial estate (Although still not a proper flight area so didnt fly too much!)

The power of the thing is insane! I have 12 degrees pitch and the following throttle curves:

Normal: 60% flat
IU1: 80-75-70-75-80
IU2: 85-80-75-80-85
IU3: 95-90-85-90-95

Gyro is down at about 40% I think. Still have some minor fast wag but its fine. This is all on a DX18.

So yeah, the speed it takes off at is impressive, with no bogging whatsoever, something tells me this can run a lot more pitch! It also seems to hover as flat as a pancake, and no oscillations on stops etc on mostly default settings (havent touched gain pots, and all flight mode parameters are at default settings)

I was very impressed with the tail authority and consistency too, giving full rudder pitch pumps gave minimal change in piroette velocity and the heli barely moved from the spot it was on at all even after a good 10 seconds of full piro pitch pumps.

I've not flown 3gx since version 2.1 but it feels very nice on 4.0. More to come, watch this space!

Why do you run v curves out of interest ?

because the ESC is ungoverned...I think, ive not actually checked!

The 500 governer was terrible in the BL70, maybe this one is better (If it has one)

The BL45X that comes with this heli DOES include a governor, however, from personal experience its probably not much cop.

The test flights from Kenny Ko flying this heli actually state the same ESC but "no governor" so I'd imagine its better without. The 500EFL pro ESC BL70G most definitely is better without a governor; And using small V curves to maintain head speed.

Glad to here the 3gx is better. I'm going to get one of these so not having to swap out electronics is a plus point and will keep the price down. Loved my 450 pro when I had it :-)
