Are the DS410's a good choice on a trex 250?

I'd prefer the DS410M's but someone has offered me some DS410's.

What do you think, ill be using the 250 for 3d aerobatic flight, so will these servos be ok?

    Thanks

i've seen a few ds410's fail some in fligh some after a crash, they don't seem to be very robust when it comes to crashing but they will get you in the air

i wouldn't think the ds410m's would be any better in a crash either

Align DS410s of any sort are OK right up until they fail..... Unfortunately they seem to fail quite a lot - I have even had 2 brand new in a 250SE kit that had huge amounts of slop/backlash from new and had to be replaced by Robbe.

It seems that the bigger size Align servos are OK, but the 410s do not fare well. I would go for Hitec HB 65s personally.

I had a 410 go in my 250se so I replaced it with a savox 1350 and I have had no problems with this servo.

Think I am correct in saying though that the DS410 and DS410M are the same servo, apart from the DS410M has the metal gears...

... so if the servo does fail mid flight and you crash, the gears on the M are more likely to survive

ive been using the 410's in my 250 se and beleve me i have crashed it plenty
as ive used the 250 to learn with and they seem to keep on battling on i do how ever have 3 hitec hb 65mg ready to go in if they do fail but they are handling all crashes and loops and general learner flying so far so cant really fault em so far

Think some have had better luck with these servos than others... but I've heard, witnessed, and also 1st hand myself, had these fail.

My 450pro.. servo failed during first 5/6 flights.. and was generally just getting the feel of the new heli.

My Trex Sport.. Servo just died on me mid flight..

Last Sunday, witnessed a friend whom just bought the 450 sport combo, and his servo just failed mid flight.

...Having said that, the servos develop a terrible backlash after not alot of flights... and makes the heli very inaccurate.

your like me i too have 3 spare 410's on the side in case the ones i currently use failed. i missed the point that i too have had a small number of crash's and theyre still working brilliantly. now that i said that touchwood they dont fail.

I have Hitec HS-65MGs in mine and, from the comments on the 410s, I wouldn't fit them personally.

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

Yeah im definately not gunna use the 410's, im thinking about the Hitec HS-65MG's, but they seem abit heavy for the model... 11.5g each i think? and im using a MiniG gyro which weighs 20g, will my model become a pig..? i want to do 3D with it, so i want to keep it reasonably light.

                            Thanks

65mg's will be fine, i use them in my 250. i think the 65hb's are slightly lighter but you may break gears in a crash
