Trex 250 Pro DFC main blade choice

I have just got the above heli and was wondering if anyone uses any other blades on this heli other than the Align stock carbons and plastics,

had a look on the web but not much info comes up.....

All I have ever used are the stock aligns both plastic and CF versions. Never had a problem with either and the plastic ones can take a battering and still fly which was beneficial for me when learning the basics

Thanks Dave, how did you find the plastics characteristically were they nice and crisp or feel a bit dull, carbons tend to feel crisper as they are stiffer, but the plastics seem quite stiff as well, I guess time will tell.

...I'd be surprised if you could feel much difference between different makes of carbon blades on such a small heli - even on a 450 the difference is small.

CF felt a little crisper in the air, but not enough to get excited about at least at the circuits level of flying I was at last time I flew my 250 (I broke it about 12 months ago and only just put it back together). I probably flew more on the plastic blades but to be honest if you buy the align seconds the cost difference is pretty small.

Defo for not at my level anyway, tried a few different blades on my 130x before i found the ones I liked, but it seems like the only choices you have for the 250 is the Align plastic and Align carbon and then high end spin blades, can't see me plumping for those,

Thanks Dave had bad experiences buying the seconds and not just the Align seconds, but it's a choice still, and it's just circuits and fig 8's for me at this point, with some stall turns and piro stall turns chucked in, on my 450 and 500 anyway, think I will need a bit of time to get a nice stable well tuned set up on the 3gx anyway.

You could try these SPIN12-310-2-205 | Spin Blades Carbon Main Blades FBL - 205mm V2
There is another make of 205 fbl blade but just cant link for it at the moment.

Well I had a chance to maiden the new 250 Pro DFC tonight, was slightly windy out side so took it in the hall where I could remove the wind factor, flew like a charm, very impressed tbh,

flew the carbon blades first, and they felt steady and crisp, change of direction was good and felt nice, then on the second battery I thought I would give the plastics a go, and boy was I shocked, there is such a little difference between these blades, I found them just as easy to fly with were as steady in the air and were quite crisp in change of direction, not quite as crisp as the carbons but really close enough, so much so I did not put the carbon blades back on.

If you're just hovering and pootling about it won't matter if you use plastic or cf. The cf align seconds I've used have been fine, mainly just paint imperfections/blobs which can be rubbed out easily. I haven't looked at other makes yet but with my 450 I decided to get some cheap tigerwing blades from china, they did the job for a while and not so painful on the wallet when you are smacking heli into the ground regularly, but once you progress you'll probably stick to the cfs, much cleaner through the air and generally better balance/match pairs.

That's pretty much where I got to, tried both out and was very surprised with the little amount of difference that I got so I stuck with the plastics on there,

yes I'm not going to tax these blades much at the moment I am very much a sport flier and until I get comfortable with all my turns and orientations then 3d can wait, as I am not in any rush

Jeeeeeezuz not at 22 quid!! The align ones are 11.69 a pair or 7.12 for the seconds, you could almost get 3 pair for that price. That would really hurt if you dinked them hahaha

I hear you it hurt when I put 2 sets of KDE XF blades in the ground for my 130x and they were only a tenner a set lol.

22 quid is a bit steep for me with my flying,

Worth checking out Hobbyking, they have some 250 size mains listed in global warehouse that are nice and cheap, check reviews before buying, but at 3 quid a pair it might be worth a punt on a few sets just for early sacrifices. Giantshark have some too, might save on post, get them fingers tapping haha

I did wonder if price warrants the flight difference.
