  • Testing my Trex 550 DFC

Went down to the field earlier today to test the Beastx settings on my Trex 550 DFC. Got my 11 year old son to take some footage on the iPhone so not brilliant quality. I'm still a very cautious flyer with this Heli as it's new, so sorry no fancy 3D (not that I can do it anyway lol)

What effect have the bigger 553 blades had?

Would you say it is more stable or more power for 3D, just interested as I was considering trying the same.

Did you lower the head speed and how has it changed the flight time?

I'd say its a fair bit more stable and can't compare as its the biggest thing I've flown, but those who have flown bigger say it flies more like a 600

Power wise it has more lift and better control of that lift than the 520's

I lowered the throttle curve in the middle from 93 to 90 and left the rest as 100/95 and 95/100 I'm not using the governor yet but might play with it

I'm putting around 4000mah back in my 5500 gens ace packs and getting 6 min flights so I'm happy I haven't had to reduce flight time

(With 520's I was getting 6 mins and putting 3800mah back in so not A massive difference )
