I posted this in another thread but got no reply:

I just watched Finless Bobs 500 build videos and he recommended using alcohol (what a waste!) on the feathering spindle threads and bolts as there might be machine oil still in there. I hadn't done this before watching the video, I just applied the loctite and assembled. Should I strip it and do this or is it OK really?

I am using Hitec HS5245s, the Align supplied servo spacers and retainers plus the Hitec screws and washers. The servos needed centering in the frame cutouts but I've found that the washers have tended to open up the servo mounting lugs a bit. They seem fairly firm but i'm concerned that they arent fixed as well as they could be. Has anyone found a better solution or this OK?

    thanks

if in doubt check it out

I cleaned mine as it was full of machine oil so I would say for the 10 mins it willtake you its well worth a check

a freind of mine did alot of damaged to his 600n when the feathering spindle came loose
the thought of a two blades shooting of in any direction with out first hitting the ground and loosing momentum scares me

Don't argue with idiot's on forums; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

In that case I'll definately do that, what sort of alcohol do I need and where is it sold? Thanks.

Any ideas about the servo mountings?
