  • Which Trex se battery do you recommend?

Which battery do you all suggest for a trex sev2 with 430xl motor and 35A govenered speed controller? I want to be able to do good 3d with it and I'm obvouisly looking for good value/performance for money.

The reason that I'm after another lipo is because the one that came with it, an align 22C 2100mah, I'm fairly sure is pretty dead as it came second hand with the heli. It lasts for anything up to about 6 mins of just hovering and then I get the low voltage pulsing warning. Haven't dared to try anything else apart from hover at the moment with that battery

I think I've narrowed it down to:
Flight power evo25 2170, Flight power 2100 or 2500 lite, rovolution 2100 or some type of thunder power battery. Thinking about it that hasn't really narrowed it down at all.

    Any help appreciated
    Cheers
    Gordon

Is that 25C continous or burst? When I looked at the aurrora site I think it said 18C continous and 25C burst which I thought was a bit on the low side for longer lifetime of the battery. Maybe I misread it.

Where can you buy the Revolution 2200 25C packs from, I've done loads of searches and can't seem to find them?

You may have to ring them as the product might not be listed onthe website?

which I thought was a bit on the low side for longer lifetime of the battery
This is the problem - pack manufacturers have inflated their C ratings in order to sell packs for so long, that it gives people this idea in the first place.

I currently run the 2100 4S 18C packs in my 450, and it is ballistic

Revos and Kokams are True rated packs - i.e. it says 18C, it comfortably does 18C.

            Cheers,

It didn't take Mikes Wiz Bang new website long to get out of date did it.
I also see he hasn't got any of the new 500 packs listed either.
Most of the other lipo companies are listing their 500 products already.
I know I can phone him etc but what if I dont want to talk & just want to buy. If it aint listed I'm likely to go elsewhere & he is going to loose out.

But you're complaining about the abundance of revo packs being used (or lack of other packs being used and reported on) in the 500 so whats the big deal? :P

Amongst all the current testing By Ash & Trev It's probable he will still be deciding which configuration packs to put out as the most suitable for the 500 & not be rushing into anything.

My company doesnt condone the use of mobile phones, in works time some thing to do with the "reading at work & use of Personal Electronic Equipment Directive" yeh I know spells "PEED"
If I had to talk to Mike from the company toilets I dont think that would go unoticed either.
But I do have a PSP & can order stuff quietly from my warm cubicle when the need arises.

Just called Mike a couple of days ago - on company time & on their phone - got some good advice & bought my second Revo pack off him. Arrived early next day. No complaints here. Sometimes I think the tinternet takes the humanity out of buying/selling. IMHO

without agreeing or disagreeing with anyone here, whats the point of having a website if its not kept up to date with their latest products? Surely one of the wonderful things about tinternet is that its so quick and easy to buy stuff?

maybe mikes too busy suing thetrexforums to be putting stuff on his site?
