  • 3GX 2.1 setup files

I've worked hard to get the best settings for 250, 450 & 500 over this weekend with not ideal conditions being so windy but in some ways its helped to get the best suitable parameter setup.
Whilst I was doing all the setups I've had people with me & agree these are spot-on parameters from very stable lift off's nose-in at that' to very stable hovers to the almost extreme of 3D
The files names have all the information you need so feel free to copy & go to 'C' my_settings 3gx & paste, open 3GX software open tab & your see the file.

Please note" you may need to click twice to read the full file information.
Although I'm sure these settings will suite everyone please be sure your DIR setup is correct then once you've loaded the parameters to your 3GX just check you have mid stick zero pitch with a pitch gauge as I can't be responsible for your incorrect setup, however your are welcome to pm me if your not sure on any part of your setup.

I been having a good read on the setup that Align recommend for the3gx & they say in flight mode you setup max cyclic without binding but not to exceed 14 degrees so tonight I setup my 500 to there spec & no way can you get a good flight with there setup even when adjusting flip/roll rates so I reverted back to my setup & it makes such a difference because basically you are setting up as if it was flybarred with about 8 to 9 degree cyclic then you can control the cyclic speed using the flip/roll rate.
The 250pro manual suggest the same but then also mentions to set the cyclic limits to 40% even this I found was way to high causing heli to be very unstable so as my files shows its down to 10% for this model.
I think its important with the v2 versions to be sure you know the cyclic setup you want before using other parameters to control the behaviour you want from your heli.

Thanks for your setting info. Before I try it out I have a question. Are you running any expo in your radio and if so what value? Thanks, DC

              Hi Jim.

I have built a Copterx 250 for a bit of fun and to make use of my left over 3GX unit. I updated it to version 3.0. Do you know if these setting are the same for V3.0? Have you updated yours to 3.0?

I have just upgraded the head to a 250 DFC. Broke the feathering shaft in a little incident Never had it flying right but only had a few short flights. I replaced the swash plate and head to align as the Copterx one was just rubbish. Had so much play in it was crazy. So basically getting closer to a Align 250. Should be up for another maiden as just finished the DIR setup last night. Everything on defaults at the mo.

Keen to get it flying well kinda like the size. Much much better than the micros after the short flight I have had with it yet still small enough to put in your lunch box :-)

              Cheers

                Hey Buddy.

Unfortunately no, V2.1 settings will not work so well on V3/V3.1 firmware. I wouldn't worry about V3, upgrade straight to V3.1 that was released the tail end of last week, as it resolves a couple of inaccuracys V3 exhibited.

I'm going to be messing around with V3.1 myself soon to be able to upload some mroe settings files for the latest firmware, my mate Red3 is letting me play with my old 700E and V3.1 and I'm going to try and get hold of another 3GX to plonk on his 550 as a test bed to ;-)

Thanks ill update and redo. Again..

I just left as defaults the first time I flew it and seemed ok. Had some issues but don't think they were 3gx related. Have upgraded some parts to align so will give it another go.
I tipped the thing over on take off on about its 5th flight. Totally left me gob smacked. I had that happen twice on version 1.2 with my 500 and Shortly after upgraded to Vbar. Have had maybe 200 flights since. Not even a hit of tipping now my 250 jumped in its side.
Anyway I am ignoring that for now as the setup was not great at the time. The TX I was using was awful and since have got a JR RX so I can use my JR radio. Just resetting up for another go.

Love the cheapness of the 250 so happy to give it a good crack at getting right. My mates got 3GX on his 450 6s and the thing seems fairly good.
