My First Build, Align 550e 3GX V2 FBL

The 550 is now mechanically setup perfect, in DIR mode swash is perfect all at low,mid,high pitch, servo arms 90 degrees at 0 pitch mid stick, and I have adjusted the pitch in the DX8 swash settings instead of 60% 60% 60% its now alieron 60% elevator 60% pitch 50% this gives me perfect 12 degrees + and -

this would all be nearly ready to go if it wasnt for the rudder still going mental and the 3gx not using DIR setup settings when complete and reverting to unset mode.

surely im doing something wrong? ive learnt so much and really enjoyed the build and setup but thr 3gx and non mechanical setup is really hard work.

as soon as the 3gx decides to transfer the DIR setup configuration out of DIR mode. no idea what im doing wrong there.

sorry the FBL head is sold, ive also put my new sat recievers and 3gx up on ebay for cheapest price over anyone else.

Bit naughty if it's a faulty 3GX and no mention in the ad on Ebay.
Doesn't give much trust if you want to sell on here in future.
Could be a negative feedback on it's way.

Shouldn't you take it back to the shop for them to have a go and replace if necessary.
I have several 3GX and 3G and they are very good units.

Wait until you try to setup the BeastX, probably the most awkward of all for a first time, lots of setup questions asked on here.
Blew my mind the first time. I posted a long list of setup help for the BeastX, have a search for it if you go that route.
Took it off my 450 pro, couldn't get it right. Put a used 3G on it and flying great first setup.

I have a BeastX as well on a 600, but am far happier with my 3GX and 3G units than the BeastX.
Am persevering with the BeastX on my 600 but I have a 3GX ready and waiting if I don't get it how I like it.
Once you understand the software for the 3GX, which does take a bit of practice, it gives you far more versatility with the unit.

For the average flyer their is little or no difference. I would defy the average flyer to tell the difference between a 3GX properly setup and a BeastX properly setup.
As said before, Duncan Osbourne won the Zone competition last year using the 3G unit, he has been world champion in the past and still flies at the very highest of world levels with Align 3G and 3GX. Says a lot for the unit rather than the quick to knock that gets posted on here.

I'm not going to spend on a VBar because it would be wasted in my hands and I don't have that sort of cash for a luxury. I can only listen to the top guys and VBar seems to win out.

Thanks for the advise, there probably isnt anything wrong with it, its my first time with Heli equipment, I have lost interest with the 3gx hence the sale, I dont feel there is anything wrong with it, everything so far is user error so the 3gx will be the same DIR setup is bob on, mechanically its perfect, but the settings wont convert out of DIR mode.

thats the only place im lost with, if I can figure that out I can get airborne.

I am upgrading everything anyway I should have just bought a frameset only changing the esc as well, If at the time the vbar is affordable I would get one of these.

beastx ordered I leave sunday so I cant use this until im back, still something to come back to

just need to upgrade esc now and another dsmX sat and I think thats enough for now.
