  • New to the Forum

Hello all, Just a quick post to say Hi and I look forward to participating.
I class myself as a newb, though I've been flying/repairing my 4S Neu powered Trex450SE (v1.5) for over four months. I learned to hover on a Twister CP last year, and since owning the Trex I've progressed to circuits and fff. I've learned a great deal about the little Rexy since originally purchasing the kit last August and I hope I may be able to add my help to other newbs out there, as well as asking for help with the odd prob or two myself.
I also enjoy the occaisional buzz about with a slightly worn Blade CX2 when the wind drops enough (i.e. totally).

    Cheers

    Rick

              Thanks guys.
Ade, I enjoyed seeing you put the lil' Trex through its paces - so its not just a marketing rumour then - they are 3D capable. Shame I'm not....ha.
The other Perham site is much better than the 'Warren hill' (old shooting range) site. Its a big (serveral football fields sized) flat field, short grass with trees surrounding on three sides (no problem). Its used by Army Polo teams on Sat and Wed - we use it on Sun.
The club has a shortage of heli flyers - at present I think its only me and Lee who routinely dabble in the mystic arts of rotary wing. Its a friendly club that welcomes all RC airborne activity and its been established well over 20 years. A bonus is that its only got around 25 members at present, I believe, and the average turnout on a good weather day is around 5 or 6 guys - so its not exactly over crowded. Strange thing is, as i said to you, even with great weather in summer they all seem to have gone home by about 5pm most times and in fact folks rarely turn up much before midday either - its like they all fly reluctantly (Aw, honey, do I HAVE to go flying again today? Can't I stay home and do clothes washing instead!!!).
Hope to see you guys up there again, thanks again for the warm welcome, cheers, Rick.

Yep. Though I prefer to fly later than most others. While the evenings are long, I tend to get there about 4ish and stay 'till around 7. Trouble is it looks like our Indian Summer is short lived. Cloud and light showers don't stop me, but high winds and or course heavy rain stops my play. Lee is normally there before me, practicing on his T600n and 3D plank.
The club chairman and sec (Charlie and Gordon) are early risers.
Anyhow, fingers crossed and hope to see you up there...........

Hi Ed, Ade put me onto this one, I didn't know about it. I'm still also a Freak tho'. The yanks make me laugh (in a good way). Sometimes they just see thing differently to us - I enjoy the banter and there's some good guys there.
