  • 450SE V1 cyclics

A thread about Trex450 V2 paddles got me thinking about my V1.
Ever since fiting a set of 65MGs my cyclics have felt nice and crisp and accurate (worn 56HBs on there before) but it seems to need more stick movement to correct it now - any ideas??
    Thanks,
    Cheers, Lee.

Are you using the same distance on the servo horn? - I use the single horn and the second hole out.

Cheers Thomas - I'll check that tonight.

When adjusting the swash, what settings do you have? Can I set the swash to the max amount but without binding or will that cause issues if they aren't all the same (mechanically)?
      Thanks,
      Cheers, Lee.

The first place that the binding starts is diagonally so put the sticks in the corner and when you feel it start to bind that will be the limit. I have my linkage in the 2nd hole out on the single HS65 horn

My swash mix (on a JR radio) is set to 65 to get +/- 10 but have reduce it to 60 if I use V's as they seem to bog more.

            Confused...

I was playing with the swash function on my futaba t7c and can't seem to get a happy medium.
Set it for a good cyclic then have to reduce the pitch loads and if I set a good pitch range (a bit of a guess as I don't have a micro pitch gauge) I have to reduce the elevator and aileron. If I have them too high the servo arm on the lower front servo hits the main gear.

Any ideas for a good set up routine?
Anyone with a trex 450SE and a futaba tx that could give me their settings as a base line would be great

One last thing... would shot dampners give poor cyclic response as the head on my trex does move a little.

my current swash settings are 55 aileron & elevator and 42 pitch
            Thanks

Those there dampers are like............. well wicked man.

I put set on last week and as Tony says there GRRREEEEEEAAAAAT!

As for the horn touching the gear, if I remember correct I had the same problem on my V1 and either cut the horn shorter or raised the overall height of the pitch range. At full pitch does the washout base/slider almost touch the top if not you need to watch Bob Finless vids on the Trex set up over on heli freaks.

Been checking it over in the garage...
Swash is now 48, 48 and 39 on pitch. That gives me (roughly using a big pitch gauge) 10 0 10 and approx 6 or 7 degrees on cyclic which sounds ok to me.
The motor was a touch tight so the head speed could have been a little low but it sounded ok.
The blade grips do move up and down though and it looks like it's in the grip / bearing / feathering shaft area rather than the dampners themselves but it is all together correctly. I think it may just be slop in the bearings. I guess the play amounts to 3 or 4 mm at the blade tip. Does that stack up with you other rex flyers out there?
                    Regards,
                    Cheers, Lee.
