  • Got any rubbers?

    Hi

I have a couple of little questions if you would be so kind?

I have a 450SE, and i have just struck the boom on a heavy landing and put a whopping great dent in it

Had to replace belt any way ,so will now replace boom - on order.

Before the heavy landing, i noticed the tracking kept going in and out on the blades (have metal head set (see attached). Adjusted the long link, sorted. Later on it would happen again - feathering shaft i thought!

Any way, stripped it down and the feathering shaft is perfect not a ding in site. I did notice that one of the blade grips ball links was loose (secured onto blade grip by two small screws) i think that might have been the problem - any thoughts!?

I also thought the rubbers are worn in the head - the ones that the feather shaft goes through. Any one know where i can get a job lot of these things, as i am guessing they will wear out quite frequently?

Can anyone Identify who makes the head and grips i have please, as i will need to get some bearings for it soon.

By the way, I assume a dent in the boom – not to mention a slight bend – will cause the tail to twitch and the helli to generally vibrate a whole lot more than it used to?

Sorry for all the question, i store them like a camel hangs onto water i am afraid

    Thanks in advance.

    John

        Thanks Guys

I am using Align Red and white woodies 315 pro.

I don't know what rip off merchant sold me this heap of smelly stuff...

Only kidding. Where can i get a handful of the rubbers from without paying an arm and a leg - £4.00 + PnP seems a lot for only 4!

3D: When you say spindle is that 3d talk for feather shaft, where blade grips screw into? Have replaced the original one, that was 8uggered - not by you - i guess my trip through the corn filed did a bit more dammage than i thought hehehe

Am not quite ready yet for tick tocks...

V2 has a 4mm feathering spindle where it goes through the head block - it's 3mm at the point where the bearings fit onto it in the blade grips though...

            Cheers,

They're nothing more than rubber O-rings. Have a look on Ebay, you can get a huge boxfull of various sizes for about £2.50

Of course you only need the 3mm ID 7mm OD (standard size) but the larger ones will probably come in useful for other tasks like, umm...
