  • Holy Cr*p - What A Machine!

Finally got some flights in today on my brand new T-rex 600, and to say ive been blown away by the performance and the handling would be an understatement. Its got the xl motor, powered by the revolution 4800 packs, with the standard dx7 set servos (will be changed in the next 2-3 weeks), and it actually made my heart race when i first started flying it! The response it awesome, the power is awesome (easily as powerful as my raptor titan with a hyper and mp2), and its an allround brilliant machine. It requires a very minor tweak to the linkage lengths to get the swash absolutley level (need a levelling tool first), but apart from that, it has performed brilliantly and without fault.

My only gripe with it is the flight times, but i have to tweak the centre point of the throttle curve down a little which should help, and im also going to get at least one more lipo (got 2 right now), and possibly another charger meaning i should be close to the flying time of the old raptor. Still, im not regretting moving over to electric one little bit, and cannot see me going back to nitro!

not really i guess around 8 minutes will be the most, but ive only just got my head around the charger properly, so now i know what the flashing lights mean i can make sure each pack is charged properly. plus the cell voltages are around 3.5v still, so i can take a little more out of it.

Your only gripe is the only reason stopping me getting one Jamie.
I just cannot justify to the wife shelling out £170 for just one lipo (one would be all I could afford) & only getting 7 to 8 mins tops out of the model but probably less.
Thats why I've just purchased myself its smaller brother the 450 SE V2
Not to replace my mini titan but to give it a rest between flights now that I have a growing arsenal of 3S 2200 mah lipos.

The Lipos will 'Break in' After approx ten cycles & i get 8 minutes flying out of my Revolution packs or I set the TX timer for 6 mins if doing 3D.

To be honest, my feelings are also that the Trex600 is an awesome machine and 6-8 minutes is about right for me before I feel like a break
          Cheers,

forgot to add, i held my first proper inverted hover too. i havnt flown for real for about 5 weeks, but have been practicing loads on phoenix. i have inverted hovers pretty much cracked. i got it down to about 10 feet, but was still a little twitchy being a new heli, and using lipo power for the first time, but i held it for about a minute without any issues, panicing or dumb-thumbing! woohoo!!

Fantastic, would love a 600 but like others have gone for the 450. Still waiting on my DX7 can't wait but putting loads of time on the sim.

Keep us posted on the flight times, be good to see how mush you get when the packet have cycled.

              Cheers Dor

                Jaime,

Some time, I'd appreciate some information on the final locations you decided on for the AR7000, speed controller, BEC 7.4v battery and regulator. I'm at that stage now although Ive decided to wait on the arrival of an XL motor, thrust race rear rotor upgrade and a torque tube before completing the build. Enjoy the flying, good weather tomorrow apparently, shame I've got "jobs" to do !

                Regards,

                Andy
