  • Carbon push rod for 450SE

    Hi Folks

How annoying... all that money for the SE version of a Trex and they're still using a steel pushrod for the tail.

I see in many peoples pictures a carbon pushrod set being used - where are you guys getting them from?

    Cheers

I've fitted all my T-Rex with 4mm CF tube from the very first one. just buy a length of CF tube from your LHS and cut to length then just epoxy threaded rod into each end and add a ball link

      Hi

The V1 SE had a CF pushrod, the V2 uses a steel push rod with a couple of supports, the V2 set which is also standard on the 450S works better and is probably lighter as well.
By all means fit a carbon push rod set up but it would be bling for blings sake and would not do anything to improve the tail performance.

This is the reason why I'm looking for a carbon push rod:

Note the bend of the standard steel rod. This is about as straight I can get it using the 9650

            -------------------------

Yes swinging the servo round should do the job or maybe the servo needs to be mounted on the other side of the lugs, it's not clear in the picture.
Mine fits fine with the steel rod and 9650.

            Cheers

                Some more pics:

I think I'm having a dumb-brunette moment, as I cannot see how rotating the servo is going to move the ball-link to get the push-rod more parallell to the tail boom.

                Help, please...?

My servo is on the other side to yours, maybe it might help if you changed it.

Yeah, I think thats it. The servo mounts need to be removed from the boom and flipped around. Thanks for the pic - its now my desktop!
