  • 600NSP Plastic Tube

The 600 has a plastic insert in the head between the dampeners, the feathering shaft goes through the middle.

I've been advised to remove it to increase stability and try to get rid of a startup vibration.

Just like to have some more thoughts before I take it out.

    Thanks

    Mark

It wouldn't be the cause of your vibration unless you had a damper gone'
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

The plastic tube is not just a tube, its thick wall in the middle and thin at each end. It prevents the spindlee moving up and down in the head block, but allows it to teeter, rock up one side and down the other - that movement is resricted by the dampers.
Before they put this part in the head, 3D pilots were able to wreck the hardest align dampers in 2-3 flights.
With dampers suitable for hard 3D you will have a wobble until you get to 1700+ rpm. But if you don't have the hard dampers, or you fly with worn out ones, you will risk a boom strike on negative G, hard up elevetor or a combination of the both (been there, its quite spectacular!).

For learning with a lower head speed you can fit the grey soft dampers. Fitting the splindle sleeve shouldn't affect it.

An alternative is to fit some KBDD dampers, the green soft, or the yellow intermediate. I was running the yellow but now I've one to the orange extreme hard ones. They last well for me.

          Leave it in Mark.

T-Rex 600's are renound for low headspeed wobble.

Crank the headspeed up and fly with it in.
