  • T-Rex 600 Electrics Positioning

Maybe a dumb question, but i need to know where abouts on the frame everything is ideally positioned. ive got a DX7 radio set, with its twin rx's to position, the 401 gyro, rx lipo + regulator, and also the speed controller. this electric business is a new world to me, so all help and advice will be much appreciated!

    Hi mate,

I have my 401 on top of the boom bracket, the RX on the bottom tray above the rear skid, The RX Lipo on the gyro shelf above the receiver, the BEC velcro'd underneath the gyro shelf with the lights facing rearward for ease of vision. The Esc I have underneath the bottom tray, more or less below the motor.

No problems or interferance thus far Will attach pics later if you want.
    Cheers,

    Gazza

          Hope this helps mate.
Of course, you could mount everything wherever you want it really but this layout works for me.

The gizmo underneath the 6S Lipo is the 6S Discharge protection module incase you wondered

I've got my receiver lipo on the front tray, under the main battery mount to shift the weight forward as it ends up a little tail heavy with the TT drive. My ESC is attached to the bottom of the right side frame alongside the motor with the gyro above the tail boom. My main AR7000 rx is on the little shelf at the back of the frames pointing backwards with the aerials poking out each side, the satellite rx is stuck to the back of the tail servo with velcro with the aerials pointing vertically up and down, this has worked perfectly since I switch to the DX7.

thats very much gazza. one more question, the rx battery that comes with the kit is a 1200mah 10c 7.4v, is it worth upgrading this, as i see you have a much bigger pack on yours.

ive mounted my second dx7 rx in the same place, but inside the frames, and the main one in the same place as yours. everything is done, just need the gyro (hopefully nutz is at 3dx tomorrow so i can get it there!), and the main lipo(s) + charger. next weekend is looking like a possibility, if not, the weekend after for sure!

p.s. what pack you using in yours and what do you think of it?

Got 3x Flight 4900 - they have been great - and just bought a Thunder Power 5000 it's awesome and can be charged a little quicker - by the way both makes have the same balancing plugs which fit my V Balance.

                            5.1 reg extentions

                            Hi Guys,

Just been putting my 600 e together, but need to know where to put the 5.1 reg extentions, there's 3 of them..

I have 4 servos inc the tail, should i have 4 5.1 leads?

Your help would be gratefully received..

                            Thanks,

                            Pete.

Almost every servo used on cyclic will be happy running on the 5.8V output from the regulator so these don't need the in-line regulator fitted, the big exception is the tail servo, 99% of which will burn out (eventually, not immediately) on 5.8V. Fit the in-line 5.1V regulator between the gyro and the tail servo, the gyro will be happy on 5.8V, it's just the servo that needs it.
