  • Paralell & serializing Revo packs

Can you serial & parallel revo 3s packs to fit a 600 trex?
I have a growing arsenal of the revo 3s1p packs for my Mini Titan & was thinking about making up a 6s2p pack of 22.2v @ 4200mah
I am looking to buy a 50 size electric because I dont like the mess & messing around with my nitro helis. The obvious choice seems to be the Align 600 but I am tempted to go for the smaller TT Raptor 550 E purely because I'm more than happy with my Mini Titan & I like the design of TT stuff.
Anybody got any views they would like to share

p.s went flying yesterday took 3 helis a 3o rappy a 50 rappy se & my mini titan scores on the doors for each heli
    30 not flown,
    50 not flown,
    Mini Titan flown 6 times
    Oh I love electric flight.

that's a lot of connections and a lot of scope for connecting it up wrong and shorting out a pack or two. If you do decide to do it use the parrallel and serial connector boards that aurorra.com do for deans connectors, much safer.

      Cheers for the reply Ash
Im not a total noob to electrics but its always better to ask for opinions I find.
Is it worth buying a E550 over the trex 600?
Now I've seen you & Trev fly the 600's & was very impressed but the lipo is out on a wing & a prayer stuck up the front like that & being a novice pilot I would be scared stupid to try anything new incae the ineveitable happened.
I just read a post where a guy put a E550 in from 200 feet & the lipo survived because of the design of the E550's alluminium frames.
Which is the best heli for a novice who can barely manage figure of eights with a bit of nose in hovering at high altitude.

As the owner of the aforsaid E550, I think I'd still say that the Trex 600 has the edge, although kit prices are pretty close, if you compare the cost of parts usually trashed in a crash then you'll see that the 600 parts around half the cost. I do have to say that I'm actually enjoying flying the E550 quite a lot now, It's not an all out 3D machine but flys very smooth aeros and coped very well in the 18mph gusts today and as almost all of my fellow club flyers are not into heavy 3D it's been more admired than the Trex 600

I must confess, I've yet to crash the Trex 600 since it first flew in July last year but I haven't read of many trashed battery packs. My Mini Titan got planted again yesterday, 5th time now I think, and the battery has always survived unscathed, I just must stop trying new (read daft!) manouvers with it, at least the repair bills are cheap.

Not sure if you saw the impad jackets Trev and I use for the packs in our machines. They will more often than not save the pack from any damage.

no, I hadn't put mine together at that point....that crash was what made me make the jacket.
