  • Good450 Servos ?

Just had my first flight in a field and then my first crash with me going silly and going inverted after 5 mins got the better of me (must walk before i can run) anyway the crash damaged all 3 of the 450 servos (hs-56hb) are there any better ones out there that are stronger ? did`nt really expect all 3 to go pop on one little inverted crash

    Cheers Simon.

leave mine for a few days on full charge i think long term not used when fully charged can harm them.

Lipos have a very low self discharge rate, you should be able to leave it for a few weeks and still have near enough a full charge.

I use HS65Hb`s on my 450,they seem perfect but i am aware that the Karbonite gears can break in a crash easier than the metal ones

I broke gears in my 65HB servos and have bought metal gears sets as spares.
Better to get the metal gear version to begin with.
BobJ told me he broke the karbonite gears in the air on his trex450se!
The gears sets are quite easy to fit. you have to reuse the ball bearing on the output shaft and it is a tight fit on the metal output gear. you must get it all the way on or when you tighten the case screws the servo locks up.
Currently have one plastic gear set left on the back cyclic servo with the metal gear set ready in my flightbox.
Skyline and fast lad stock the metal gear sets to convert 65hb to mg.

i have always shyed away from metal geared servos but you are correct, for the 450 they are probably the better option

I would probably upgrade to metal if mine were to fail

my SE has been in 2 crashes, 1 side one not that bad but the second was inverted headinto the ground full bore made a mess of the shaft links flybar, it actually snapped the feather spindle, but through it all the metal gears survived I was quite impressed as I thought they would have had it.
                  All the best

                    Hi

                    There are a few good options, they are the Hi-Tec HS65MG, the Hi-Tec HS65MG,the Hi-Tec HS65MG,the Hi-Tec HS65MG,the Hi-Tec HS65MG,the Hi-Tec HS65MG and the HS65MG:-)

One day we will have metal geared brushless motor digital mini servo's for the T Rex's but not yet unfortuantely.

                    Cheers

Are you gong to get some Robbe fs61bb speed servos (Robbe part 1-8520) for trex tail use Bob?
I don't want to pay 50+ quid for a trex tail servo if the Robbe one is as good as Rob (not Robbe) says!
