  • SOS Trex 600 assembly problem .

Hi Guys have a problem with main blade grips assembled exactly as per manual and as you tighten the bolts on the shaft one grip goes tight tried re'assembly including every other possible way to assemble other than in the manual and still the same. Can you advise please. I am totally stuck. everything else done but need to sort this. if you can help i'd be very gratefull.

sounds like a thrust race is binding, are they on the right way round?

Hi Ash yep did it that way Quote thin larger inner diamiter toward grip then thrust race followed by thick smaller inner diameter unquote . it feals as though
as you feel resistance the grip starts to turn then if you turn grip by hand you can see bolt turning within the shaft. bear in mind i have not locked the bolts down yet for the reason its not rite.

            I had the same problems.
There are remnants of plastic flash inside the grips that detach when you insert the thrust bearings - Mine were a very tight fit & they wouldnt sit right.

I assembled, disassembled and scraped remnants of plastic out of the grip with a sharp flatblade screwdriver. Repeated the process three times and it sorted it. A pain in the arse I know

I've a feeling you have the same problem and the first shim and thrust washer arent going into the blade grip far enough due to the plastic 'Flash' Hence the locking up. This pain in the arse problem is actually on the Trex600forum website so it's happened to us all & is fortunately easily sorted Mate

              Steve,

I had the same problem with mine. When the feathering spindles are made the step portion is a fraction to small. I went through 3 to get a good one. Even then I had to remove a slight bit of material to make it work correctly.

If you remove the feathering spindle from the head and install the thrust races on it and screw the bolts into the end you will see that one or both of them will be locking up. This is quite a common problem but is easy to get over. I used fine wet and dry paperon a small square block to take down the length of the stepped portion of the feathering spindle. NOT the diameter.

This part here where the arrows are pointing!!!

Sorry for the crap drawing but I'm at work.

              Cheers

I have seen bad thrusts with kits, replacements normally sort the problem out.

The way to PD is to move just the thrust bearings form one side of the feather shaft to the other side and see if the tightness follows the thrust bearing you just moved.
