  • Recharging...

Lets say you're doing some testing on your heli. You're checking servos stuff, and now and again, spin up a bit, but no flights.

Once you're done, you packup. Your battery is now doing to 85%

Do you recharge? Does that kill the life of the battery?

There is no problem to fly the heli a bit from 80%*
There is no problem to charge it back up again.
However a fully charged lipo at room temperature should not be allowed to get too cold as that will not be good.
Yuor cellpro charger if charging out in the cold wil only charge the pack to 90% which is in effect fuilly charged for a cold temperature.
So charge the pack to 100% and keep it warm until you fly it.

    * some ESC take the initial voltage rather than the actual voltage and base their undervolt shutdown on that. They shut down when the volts reaches a certain proportion of the initial voltage. So if you start with a part charged pacjk then you can run the pack down too low. however if you have a separate lipo alarm then it doesn't matter.
you can fly the pack from 80% but don't fly to long. Scale down the flight time accordingly.
