  • Not a cloud in the sky... not a breath of wind...

... What a day for a first flight/hover attempt up here in Fife!

Will report results. Just going to do loads of checks. Pitch of the blades is worrying me.. So going to make sure that's 100% right, then off I go to a nearby football field...

try to get in touch with an eperienced flyer if you can, their help will be invaluable

i went for my first attempts last weekend & was very glad of having some experienced guys with me, without them & the adjustments they made mine would have been in bits by now! they really calmed it down & made it easier to fly

i'd also definitely recommend the spazzy undercarriage with the balls on sticks! way cheaper than a set of blades etc..............

      Training gear attached....
Exp set to -30 on cyclic...
Flybar weights - not arrived yet, but maybe the postie will still bring today..
So I think in calming terms, I have done all I can.
Seems there's not an experienced heli guy within 100 miles from me.
We need a 'Scottish Heli Page' or something. The nearby flying clubs are all fixed wing... and the one I am joining has a guy in the same boat as me - but a larger petrol powered heli.

Anyway, back to this amazing weather... I just took my Lama out in the garden, powered up, got some height, and put it into a nearby hedge, after bouncing off a wall! Not bad! I didn't realise the between the time I posted this topic, and now, the wind picked up slightly - enough to make the tips of the trees move - and this was enough to knock the Lama over..

Ahh well, the Trex will be a bit better later on the field, I am sure... I think I'm sure.... I hope!

Have you tried the Falkirk Club ???
They fly heli's there and are a friendly bunch
Of course it would mean having to leave the Kingdom for an hour or too
