  • Tx Expo setting

I've read that the EXPO setting for each channel can be changed to dampen or calm down the Trex, so that it's not as skittish.

Do I increase the EXP for all the channels? Also, how much would you recommend is good for a first flight?

Just add expo to aileron and elevator (cyclics) - start at about 20% and increase/decrease to suit.

OK, quick termanology check.. 'cyclic' would be the name of the 'joy stick' in the real chopper, and this is a direct lation to the right stick on my Tx?

Collective would the what the pilot holds in his left hand next to his seat, for throttle and pitch control, right? I've had loads of hours in the right seat with a family member who was a freelance pilot (Now a pilot for the 6th richest man in the world, according to Forbes...), but when I flew around the country with him, I was too in awe to ask what he was doing all the time.

If it were a futaba tx then you wold want -20% of expo.
Can't remember if it is + or - for the Hitec.
Why anyone wpould want to make it more sensitive in the middle I do not know.
Anyway to check you get the right expo, hold the tick just a little over and adjust the expo - as the expo is applied the swash will move less in the middle for the same stick.
The full throw movment stays the same.

Cyclic is as you say is left/right/forward/back control, the other is up and down in simple terms. If you are using a JR radio you would use positive Expo to soften the controls if you use a Futaba you need negative. If you go the wrong way it give a whole new meaning to hard to fly

            Termanology Check.

The cyclic would be what u would call the cyclic in a real helicopter. the joy stick is what i bought my wife from ann summers.
