  • Best way to get a T-Rex 600N

    Hello,

I'm looking for some advice on how best to get a T-Rex 600.

If I understand it right if I went for the Super Pro Combo I would have to add 5 x servos and a gyro. I'm not sure what servos are required for each part?

If I went for the LE, I would need a throttle servo, OS50 and muffler?

What advantages does the LE give over the standard machine?

I'm trying to do this as cost effective as possible, but when it comes to the multitude of servos, gyros etc i'm lost!

    Thanks.

Obviously the LE is the lastest machine and slightly better spec'd than the NSP.
Both are virtually the same machine though.
I would say it would be cheeper to get the LE and then get a throttle servo for less than 10 quid and engine and pipe combo you could pick up for around 150-175 quid, alot less than buying all the servos and gyro for a nsp, you want to buy half decent equipment and don't want to scimp on this as you will only have to upgrade later
    Hope this helps
    James

Yer i agree with James on this one, Align do extremely well on there combos because they work out significantly cheaper, when getting myself a new heli if its an Align i will usually go for the most complete combo even if i dont want the electronics and sell them on.
There is no real difference in the NSP and LE other than the bling on the LE.

Thanks.. I dont want to scrimp, just want to make sure the equipment is up to the job without spending say £100 on one servo. Is the OS50 the only real engine worth going for? I've tried to find a Align 50 but cant see any.

You are only supposed to be able to buy the Align 50 with a kit which is why they arn't advertised out side of combo deals.
But No a TT 53Redline imho is better than the Os 50 Its cheaper spares are less and outputs more power, or YS either a 50 or 56 again better than OS.
Again just opinion but i wouldn't buy an OS at all, Spares are just a stupid price.

Don't forget the newer OS 55 as well. More power but obviously more cost.

I definitely agree that the LE is the way to go. Very decent electronics and a very good price so it's hard to beat.

I would go for the tt53 parts are half price that of an o.s I just bought a piston, piston ring and liner for £52 you would pay almost twice that for the o.s.

if you think about cost effectiveness, "not experimenting" should be your biggest concern.
Getting help at the field is the second most important issue - don't go for an exotic gyro, for example, even if people say it works well. Unless, of course, you don't need the help.
Do not buy second hand, except if you trust the seller (and even then, if a heli is great, why does the seller want to get rid of it)? It's a gamble, you can win, you can lose. Whatever, if money is short you can't afford to take the risk in the first place, IMO.

I think the Align components for the 600 are quite good. For a beginner, the .50 engine has more power than you can handle, and I have heard good things about Align gyros recently.
If you're already an advanced flyer, go for a .56 engine instead.

The only issue I can remember is the power switch on the regulator / glow plug driver unit. And don't trust any receiver battery indicator. They all lie.

Finally got round to ordering the LE. What is a suitable servo for the throttle? I was thinking a Futaba S3152 might be ok?

What would be a decent rx battery for the AR7000?

A 3152 is fine and the LE comes with a RX battery... an align 7.4v 1900mah, So you dont need to buy one
