After a little crash caused by the pcm on my futaba cutting in and stalling the engine I decided to take the plunge and go 2.4gig.

ive now got the heli setup and ready to go, im a little concerned with where ive placed the mini reciever all ive done at the moment is exchange the pcm one for the AR6100 so its placed between the carbon frames at the back with the wires sticking out a little on each side.

Obviously with all that carbon im concerned with shielding of the signal. Last night I did a range check I was far enough away from the machine not to be able to see it except as a spec and all the controls worked fine, but I am still obviously concerned and wondered if anyone else had used this reciever in this position.
    All the best
    Tony.

Although the frames aren't carbon I've got my AR6100 in exactly the same place on my Mini Titan with no problems at all and I've flown it so far away it was a dot!

The specs I've read say that the reception of Spectrum RX's are totally unaffected by carbon. It said that full-carbon slope soarers and suchlike have been used without any issues whatsoever. No need to get the aerial exposed or anything.

        IMO, don't worry about it.
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

Well that sounds like good news, didnt fancy rerouting all the wires lol.

got to say the heli looks alot better just without the ariel along the side of it. hopefully i'll see how it performs tomorrow.
