  • Phoenix Progress

Right, as people have said, I am trying the Trex 600 in Phoenix, and battling! I am also converting from Mode 1 to Mode 2, so fighting with that too!

These are me trying to land. So, I will try and track my progress daily. Besides being rubbish, can you see all my other faults? Too much stick? Throttle?

Any help and guidance would be great.

    Hi there,

Now to me that looks like the throttle is not set up, looks like its set up for half stick throttle cut off, you should have full 100% use of the throttle stick up/down do you have that ??

    Cheers Simon.

OK on the throttle thing just look in Your Controls screen and edit your profile again. If you are getting full travel you will see it there. Personally I would be doign this at your stage.

Practice getting light on the skids and back down again (just a bit), then lift off and come down again. If you can hover withing a foot, then your getting somewhere.

Have a look at this vid and see what I mean.

Going up high will not teach you how to hover properly.

I won't be doing 3D flight, so had my controller setup for basically 40,45,50,70, 90 type curve. Is this not a good move?

Wow.. light on the skids is HARD!!!
But will be great once mastered. I'm battling to keep it steady, like you did in the vid. Will practise and show my progress soon.

          THanks for that.

OK, set your throttle curve up like this. If you want to you can change Phoenix controls for expo on Aeiloron and Elevator but I personally think you shouldn't.

              .0 25 50 75 100

Also when your hovering, remember low down is in more turbulent air, so get up to at least a foot and half

Everything you do when learning to fly should be very small movements. It's about TONS of repetition, building up natural responses that you don't think about.

              Have fun

Forgotten about the hover training. I guess that's a good way of learning.

Yeah, doing the hovering training in between 'free flight' practise. Now I'm starting to think that 8 minutes on a lipo is way enough. The concertration required kills be after a few minutes.

ok im being thick here, but how do you watch these movies in pheonix.

Im guessing you have to put the file in one of the directories but which one?
                      All the best

Yes, put them in Program Files\Phoenix\resources\recordings

Once there, you can load the video from within Phoenix.

                        Hope that helps.
