  • Pitch and binding

I am trying to setp pitch, but have run into (more) difficulty.

When I set the throttle to 100% pitch, the read servo arm is touching the back vertical rail. So I can only get a maximum of 5 degree pitch...

My guess would be your using too long Servo arms

whats your Swash mix percentages set too and whats the travel adjusts set too (ATV's)

      ATV = EPA?
If so, EPA is set to 100% for all channels.

Swash is set to 62% for channel1 (Roll, swash servo 1)
      5% for channel2 (Pitch (Servo 2, 180 degrees))
      -69 for channel 6 (Pitch (Servo 3))

the following is for a TreTs SE

do the links from the swash fall vertically down to the servo?

if yes then the servo arms arnt too long

at center stick with no pitch curve is the servo arms level with the servo case?
            is the swashplate level
            and is the pitch 0degrees

              your pitch curve is fine with 0 25 50 75 100 asumming its a 5 point one
I dont think you can put negative values in the pitch curve

could you ansner the following for me

at center stick on the pitch is the servo arms level with the servo case?
                    is the swashplate level?
and what is the pitch at center?

                      Yes, they are all vertical.

Could be better. Sorting that now...

                      Still binding.

It looks like the rear servo, that is binding, is connected on the inside hole of the arm. If I moved it to the middle hole, I think it wouldn't bind anymore.

                      Is that a safe move?

Stick in the middle = -8 degrees pitch
Stick all the way down - off the pitch guage. -18 or something.
Stick to top = +7 degrees.

                        Does that help?

dont adjust the balls position if it is the same on all the servo arms

My guess at teh moment is you need to adjust teh three links that go from the swashplate to the servos to get zero degrees at center stick

so lets start at the begining the servos

all three control pitch and cyclic

                          all three must be equal

so each servo should be setup the same

so at center stick with no mixing sub trims or any type of trims the three servo arms should be level with the servo case

the servo arm balls ahould be set at the same distance from the center
one that makes the linkage from the swash down vertical (or as close as possible)

next reset the links back to the manuals default size ensuring the swashplate is level at center stick too.
then messure the pitch (the above only works if all the linkages are teh size suggest by align)

so by now you should be closser to zero at center stick, if not then as long as all linkages are set as per the manual start adjusting the three links from the swash to the servos in equal turns to make the pitch get to zero

                          Edders

                            THanks Edders. Servos are straight.
                            Here's a few photos.
Not, the radio is at middle stick.
Note the pitch guage. Very NOT zero degrees.
It looks like those two arms that connect to the blades need to be shortened?

yep shorten the small double links on both sides but you may find you cant get enough tryit and see

also once done see how different the sizes are of the links compared to the manual
