  • TREX 450 X your view?

    Hi guys
I have Finaly built the TT Mini Titan
& I must say what a pleasure it was to build. Typical TT
quality & ingenuity & a total build time from kit form of aroximately 12hrs.
I haven't flown it yet, as I am a beginer & realy want to pick a
near perfect day for it's first hover etc.
Inthe mean time I have been looking again at my trex 450X a kit of about 2 years age, part built but never finished, due to what can only be described as poor fitting parts & bad design. Ive basicaly been told by a respectable shop to throw it in the bin :O "because it is rubish"
    Is it realy that bad?
I was hoping to get it together & use it as a practice / 2nd model even if it requires some essential upgrades I am willing to spend out on it to get it in the air but am I wasting my time bothering with it or not?

Voted throw it out as dont think it's worth spending time & money on...Dont ever throw out what can be sold on ebay

You might get a pleasant surprise mate...Definitely has no place in your fleet now you have the mini Titan.
See what you can get for it & treat yourself to an extra lipo or some spare Titan blades.
    Cheers,

    Gazza

        sell it..

Its very unfair to compare the original T rex 450 to the Mini shite an

That was Aligns first go at a small heli and bears no resemblance to the superior quality they are knocking out now

T Rex`s all the way for me now,,i have gone right off of Thunder Tiger

LOL very good m8 but it is a rather nifty little machine just because it doesnt come pre assembled with a shiney carry case doesnt mean it's shite

raptor50luvver is right you can't compare the original 450x to the mini titan the first align x was shocking although the mini titan is far better in quality imo to "most" of align 450's apart from the SE so really there not comparable.. the aligns need to be blinged to perform the titan will do it all in stock form
as for upgrading the standard 450x don't waste your cash your flogging a dead horse.. to get it right you'll end up with a completely new model loads of spares and an empty wallet
            cheers Lee

If it ain't broke fix it until it is

Not a dig at the actual Mini titan as i aint even seen one,,i hear they are Ok

I just prefer the Align stuff now,I was a TT person thru and thru but they dont do nothing for me now,,i used to have several Raptors

Im down to just 1 Titan now and thats on the shortlist for selling

The modern Align Rex`s are far better than the original one was but i have not directly compared them to the Mini T

No problem m8 it was just your reference to it as the "MINI SHITE AN"

I would have prefered a trex 450 se but funds are limited & £109 on the never never is better than £250

I also feel what is put in these micros is far more important than the quailty of the kit. Ive put a GY401, Shultz ipd Rx, Hitec HS65's & a Castle phoenix 25a speedo, only thing in it im not happy about is the align 2800kv motor but thats only because I cant get a 2mm holed 13t pinion to go on my himax.

The main thing with the Titan is it's size, its a lot bigger than the 450x & huge compared to my zoom 400! I wasnt expecting that but am hopeing this will make it more suited to learning on & training me to fly right & help me fly it easier.

I also here a lot of bad press about align models from certain members here
some biased & some not. Unfortunately the best micros(i.e 450SE & Dragonus Pro ll) are always the most expensive so it becomes quite an exclusive club. One Im unlikely to become a member of.

735mm nose to tail arc 210mm skids to blades & a 728 rotor disc.
not sure what size a trex se is tho so cant compare the two.
I'm not sure if the 2800kv motor will fly it sucessfully.
